What is Meditation?Meditation is a tool for rediscovering the body’s own inner intelligence. Practiced for thousands of years, it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet; it’s about finding the silence that’s already there and making it a part of your life. It originated in the East as a spiritual practice, to help us reconnect with our Higher Selves. But it has become popular in the West as science and western medicine prove it to be highly effective in managing stress, improving the symptoms of long-term illnesses, and even healing disease altogether. Meditation is easy to learn! You don’t have to be able to empty your mind of all thoughts in order to be able to meditate successfully. In fact, thoughts are a normal part of the process and indicate the release of stress. Meditation is comfortable to practiceIt doesn’t require sitting in uncomfortable lotus positions. We sit on a chair in a comfortable upright position (but if you wish to, you can sit on the floor or on a meditation cushion) Meditation is not a religious practiceIf you have a spiritual practice, meditation will reinforce your connection with the Spiritual domain, but it does not have any specific religious connotations and can be practiced by people of all faiths and none. 3 Week Course ContentWeek 1 - August 17:
